WoW Gold-Blizzard Reveals New and Improved Battle.net

If you navigate to the Blizzard site now, you will notice that there's a new FAQ up about the new-and-improved Battle.net. Most of us may have seen this coming when Achievements were first discussed. Most of the information in the FAQ pertains to World of Warcraft players, as under the new system, their WoW Gold logins will be merged in with the new Battle.net logins (for you multi-WOW-account people, you can link up to eight WoW Gold accounts to a single Battle.net account). At the moment, merging WOW with Battle.net is optional, but the FAQ outlines that Blizzard will eventually require the account merger, and that future Blizzard titles will be using the new system as well. So you might as well merge it now. Players can speak to NPC without any WoW Gold.
Blizzard's goals for this centralized system are similar to what Valve has been doing with Steam. Last year, EU WOW Gold Fast  Blizzard introduced the ability to store retail CD-keys on your Battle.net account, with the additional benefit of having downloadable versions of purchased games. In addition to that benefit, Blizzard outlines that the new Battle.net account will be used to opt-in for future betas, access Blizzard forums and websites such as the WOW Armory, and, down the line, add more community features (maybe a method of chatting with friends across the various games).
If you already created a "Blizzard account" last year, it's already been transformed into a Battle.net account. Though, on the flip-side, Battle.net accounts for individual legacy titles such as StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II do not use the new Battle.net login info. Basically, when playing a legacy title, you still use that game's specific login information (now classified as a "Battle.net Classic" login). Now we're waiting to see if the StarCraft II beta will add even more features to the new Battle.net.
