I am getting my friend to level up his mage to power leveling we can try this combo out.
I don't consider myself as an expert at all, but I think 7/7/47 works well as it is a very balanced build.I have tried to use the succubus, and she is only effective vs noob teams. Any teams worth their salt will elminate her quickly. Spell Lock in conunction with Improved Counterspell, plus polymorph, fear, shadowfury and deathcoil can combine to give you quite a bit of healer control. I would keep the Felhunter. The devour capability is also decent for defensive dispels. Please keep us updated on your progress, will be very happy to learn from your experience.
Yup I totally agree, Felpup is the way to go. With the vast amount of stealth / druids in 2v2, paranoia makes my day. More often than not we sniff the stealthers out before they can get the power leveling jump! (we are both human, but felpup certainly helps). Perhaps this is due to low rating suckiness (1450 now). However feldom could be useful to get a succu out on some teams and seduce nuke... dont know haven't tried (and it sounds a little too good to be true).
Actually, something like a 0/17/44 build would work. You are giving up instant corruption, but destro corruption sucks anyways. It is still useful trying to hit things on the run, but that is where your frost mage partners come in. I also think instant corruption is less useful in the arena vs in BGs. Improved Lifetap, whilst nice, is not really something too useful in this 2 DPS setup.
In exchange, you get +30 damage from Fel armor, which is nice, more power leveling mana from Fel Intellect, which is tiny, but not bad. Fel domination and Master summoner for an instant pet offers a lot of felxibility.
My experience with a succbus is that (without instant pet) vs double dps, it works reasaonbly well. People don't expect it, and your burst plus your partner's dps will do a lot of harm before they can react.
