So as it now passed 00:00 in Sweden, aka new day to get power leveling, I am going to post another entry somewhat based on my last entry regarding the Blizzard vs MDY verdict. If you do not know anything about it, read up about power leveling.
I am not going to discuss the actual issue that got MDY convicted, but rather the aspect that got them in trouble in the first place. Botting. I am going to try to stay objective, some of my thoughts may seem to lean towards the botters side, but that hsould only occur in case you do not understand the specific point I am trying to make for more power leveling.
This is mainly written as an arguiment to all of you who really hate botters.
So lets face it. The Glider trial was not only about copyright laws. Wow Oro That is what Glider fell for, but I would very much doubt that a user creating for example a swastiska in Photoshop would get convicted of breaking copyright laws if Photoshop would have an EULA saying it is prohibited to create provoking images about power leveling. If you are not buying this, then let us say for the sake of argument that the main reason Glider fell against Blizzard was because they in the end offered "cheating" in a game.
It was up to judge Campbell to decide wheter it was right or wrong of Glider to offer a way to cheat in the most popular mmo as of today to get power leveling.
Campbell sided that Blizzard, the good guys had spent many years creating an entertaining and fun game in an all honest spiritual american dream-fashion, and as such should be treated with respect, and anyone violating this respect should be punished.
I know many of you out there hate botters. What I have never understood is why. |
